I feel like Solomon is literally repeating verses in this chapter. That's good, but I kinda covered all this in that last few chapters. I'm going to find new verses and throw out some stuff on those.
29:
"The wicked bluff their way through, but the virtuous think before they act."
Thoughts BEFORE actions. Ohhhh, NOW it makes sense. I always thought that instead of asking permission, you ask forgiveness later. This is a new didcovery for me. Planning. I've always just put my head down and run. Something to work on for sure. Trust me, when you go on the fly in life, it rarely produces well.
26:
"Some people are always greedy for more, but the Godly love to give!"
Think about what you actually sacrifice. What do you give up that's important to you for the sake of others and for Christ? That's when we are giving. When we are going out of our way to do for others instead of wasting away like lazy people Solomon is hatin on so much. If we do not give, we will never receive, and we will never get anything done. so give!
31:
"The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord."
This is sometimes a hard act for christians. When we suceed and do something good, we want to have the spotlight a little right? WRONG. God has given us all of the gifts and talents we have and you gotta give him his props for it. Maybe even give him his change, and then ask if he wants paper or plastic. That would be me, cause I'm checking him out, yo! Whatever we do, we should do for the Lord, who gave us the opportunity to DO anything!
15:
"Justice is a joy to the Godly, but it terrifies evil doers."
It's amazing how your interests change when you accept the holy spirit. You might not even know what justice is, but once you have the spirit, you start doing it! I think it terrifies evil doers because they know it means them getting in trouble. It is a fragile moment knowing you've sinned and must asnwer for it. We must be gentle with these people. It isn't always wrong to correct someone's actions, but we cannot do this with pride implied like we think we're better than them. Cause, newsflash, WE SIN TOO! We must share of the forgivesness Christ gave/gives us! Then justice will be served to everyone! booyah!
I was all over the place on that chapter. Good grief.
